Upskill with Renewables
We also have an optional "Gas & Renewables" package for this course that allows you to explore the world of renewable energy, including Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP), and earn qualifications to prove your competency in working with ASHP!

Who is this programme for?
This course is suitable for anyone aged 16 or over who wants to start a career in the gas industry. It's aimed at those with no prior experience or qualifications in the industry who want to embark on a new career path by building a solid understanding of the core principles of gas safety. You will learn the theoretical understanding and practical skills necessary to be a confident workforce member or start your own business!

Course Details
Qualifications awarded
Learners will gain the following industry-recognised qualifications:
- CCN1 - Core Gas Saftey
- CPA1 - Combustion Performance Analysis
- CENWAT - Domestic Gas Central Heating Boilers & Water Heaters
- CKR1 - Domestic Gas Cookers
You will also receive the following accredited training modules to enhance your understanding further and build on your essential skills:
- Safe Isolation and Essential Electrical Testing
- Fault Finding
We also offer an optional "Gas & Renewables" package for this course!
This package will allow you to gain the following additional qualifications as well as all the understanding you need to start working with renewable energy solutions like Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP):
- Unvented Hot Water Systems and Saftey (HWSS)
- WRAS - Water Regulations
- Level 3 Award in the Installation and Maintenance of Air Source Heat Pumps
Pre-requisites
This course requires no prior learning/experience, and is specifically crafted for those with no experience in the industry!
Applicants must be 16 or over.
Course structure and Assesment method
We have both full-time and part-time options for this course:
Full-Time Managed Learning Programme
Candidates are expected to attend our Kirkintilloch Centre for theory and practical learning from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 4:30 pm.
There will also be at-home learning and assessments hosted online to allow you to further develop your understanding in your own time.
You will gain priceless in-the-field experience with a Gas Safe Registered engineer on a placement.
Part-Time Managed Learning Programme
Candidates are expected to attend our Kirkintilloch Centre on the following schedule for valuable in-person practical and theory learning:
- Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 6 pm to 9 pm.
- Saturdays, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Part-time students will still receive a placement in the field with a Gas Safe Registered engineer - this can be completed flexibly to fit your schedule!
